Demo Patch History

This page is the dated changelog for the Anime Shop Simulator demo, not a 1.0 patch table. The full Windows build is still upcoming on 11 September 2026. The playable public slice is Steam app 3444070, which went live on 19 February 2026. Developer One More Time (with publisher Polnoch) posted the notes below on the Steam news hub. When a line here disagrees with your client, trust the in-game build number after a Steam update.

For what the demo contains and how people scored it, use demo notes. This log is the “what changed on which day” companion so you can match a bug report to a hotfix instead of guessing.

How to read this log

  • Dates are Steam news dates in 2026.
  • Versions are the labels the studio used (HotFix 1.4.2 / 1.4.3, 1.4.5, v1.4.6, v1.5.0).
  • Player impact is this wiki’s translation into shop language: till, table, lobby, crate. It is not extra patch text the studio forgot to write.
  • Nothing here means the complete game already shipped. A demo hotfix is still a demo hotfix.

Update the demo in Steam before a co-op night. Mixed patches are how “it works for me” starts. After you update, create a new lobby rather than bookmarking a week-old server.

19 February 2026 — demo out

The free demo landed around Steam Next Fest as app 3444070. You could name a shop, buy a short list of licenses, order stock, face shelves, scan at the register, crack boosters, and invite friends into online co-op (up to four).

That first week is when the bug mail started: lobbies that would not create, joiners who could not see customers, crates that would not empty, and combat freezes. Those reports are why the next two weeks exist. If a video from mid-February still shows a broken host flow, the player is probably on a pre-1.4.3 client.

26 February 2026 — HotFix 1.4.2 / 1.4.3

Steam news bundled HotFix v1.4.2 and 1.4.3. The headline for co-op nights: server creation logic was reworked so hosts could create or join more reliably after “failed to create server” reports. If your group still cannot open a lobby, read online co-op after you force-update Steam — NAT and mixed builds still lose even on a reworked path.

The same family of notes covered shop-floor stalls that made the first week feel cursed:

  • A joiner could not see customers the host was already serving. That is a ghost-shop problem, not a “your friend is AFK” problem. After 1.4.3, if the floor is empty for one client and busy for the host, you are still desynced — restart the lobby before you rearrange furniture.
  • Players could get stuck after picking up a card. Drop/interact state failed to clear. If you are frozen with a holographic in your hand, update first; then try a drop prompt. Do not assume the card is permanently glued to your camera.
  • You could not empty a crate. Stockroom cardboard is supposed to become trash and product, not a permanent crate you walk around. This is why shop controls still tell you to trash empties — the interact has to work.
  • French translation work shipped with thanks to @Adenor. That is a localization credit, not a new mechanic.
  • The studio mentioned freeze-in-combat testing. They were already looking at card-battle freezes before the dedicated 1.4.5 exit fixes. If your February footage shows a duel you cannot leave, that is this era, not a secret endless mode.

Player takeaway: 1.4.3 is the “can we even play together” patch. Do not debug deck types on a pre-rework host.

9 March 2026 — HotFix 1.4.5

Demo HotFix v1.4.5 is the till-and-table patch. Steam’s own bullets, rewritten in operator language:

  • Stuck in a card battle with no exit. Several cases fixed. If you still cannot leave the table, you are not on 1.4.5. Details and staffing rules sit on card battles.
  • Register exact change sometimes failed. The numpad path is supposed to pay the guest the right bills. If change still sticks, hover extra notes back into the drawer as the demo’s own checkout tip describes, then file a new report with your build number.
  • Freezes in more than one gameplay scenario were addressed. Combat was not the only freeze.
  • Colliders were added to several objects so you clip less and interact more. If a shelf you used to walk through now has a body, that is intentional.
  • Shelves that could no longer be moved were fixed. Layout experiments should work again; save first anyway.
  • Leave-table animation was in the same hotfix cluster. Standing up from a duel is a real animation, not a teleport. Wait for it.
  • Scan failures at checkout were called out. A beep that does not add the SKU is a 1.4.5-class bug if you are still seeing it on a current build.
  • Card duplication on the display stand was fixed. Do not farm it. Do not write a money guide that assumes infinite foils.

Steam’s “what’s next” on that post pointed at synchronizing quest progress in multiplayer (that became 1.4.6 six days later) and then a larger optimization pass for shops with a lot of items. That second sentence is the road toward 1.5.0’s architecture work.

15 March 2026 — v1.4.6

Demo v1.4.6 is one sentence that matters in a four-player lobby: in-game tasks have been synchronized and now complete simultaneously for all players.

Before this, a tutorial tick or a shift checklist could complete for the host and stay open for a joiner. That looked like griefing. It was a sync bug. After 1.4.6, if a task still looks desynced, update before you accuse a friend of skipping the objective.

This is why co-op onboarding is less painful on a current demo than on a February recording. It does not add licenses, events, or staff. It makes the existing checklist honest.

26 May 2026 — v1.5.0 (no new content)

Demo v1.5.0 is the patch people misread as a content drop. Steam news was explicit: there is no new content in this update. The studio did performance work, bug fixes, and a rework of part of the internal architecture. They called it an important step before the next stage of development.

They also said a later demo with new mechanics and gameplay features would be released soon. “Soon” on 26 May 2026 is not a dated promise. As of this wiki’s compile, treat 1.5.0 as the last named public demo version in this table unless a newer Steam post appears. Do not tell friends that 1.5.0 “added thieves” or “added the bat.” Those systems were previewed later as launch-facing news, not as 1.5.0 toys.

Player takeaway: if your May client feels smoother at the register or in a four-player aisle, that is 1.5.0 doing its job. If you expected new licenses, you expected the wrong patch.

What this log is not

It is not the August 2026 “Gather Your Crew” launch-date post. It is not the 14 August 2026 “Your Shop is in Danger!” systems preview. Those belong on the updates hub and on the danger page, not in a demo hotfix table. Mixing marketing beats into a patch log is how people claim the full game already shipped.

It is also not a codes list. There are still no promo codes. A hotfix that syncs tasks is not a gift crate.

After you update

  1. Let Steam finish the demo download. Verify integrity if a friend is on a different number.
  2. Host a fresh lobby. Joiners should be able to see customers.
  3. Pick up a card and put it down. Empty a crate. Scan one item. Sit at the table and leave.
  4. Only then restock for a real shift.

If step 3 fails, you have a netcode night, not a merch night. Switch to solo layout practice or read shop controls instead of rage-reinstalling Windows.

When the complete game unlocks on 11 September 2026, this page should grow a 1.0 table (date, build, three-line summary) and keep the demo section as an archive. Until then, the useful “current patch” is updated demo + 1.4.3 lobby path + 1.4.5 table/till fixes + 1.4.6 task sync + 1.5.0 tech pass.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for demo players and launch-day shopkeepers.

Is this the full game changelog?

No. It is the Steam demo’s dated hotfix log. The complete Windows build is still upcoming on 11 September 2026. Context lives on demo notes.

Which patch fixed “failed to create server”?

HotFix 1.4.2 / 1.4.3 on 26 February 2026 reworked server creation. Update the demo, then follow co-op.

Which patch fixed stuck card battles?

HotFix 1.4.5 on 9 March 2026. It also fixed display-stand duplication. See card battles.

Did demo 1.5.0 add new mechanics?

No. Steam said no new content — performance, bugs, and internal architecture. A later demo with new mechanics was described as coming “soon.”

Why do co-op tasks complete for one player and not others?

That was the pre-1.4.6 desync. Version 1.4.6 (15 March 2026) synchronized in-game tasks for all players. Update before you blame a teammate.
